Rahul Gandhi gets bail in Amit Shah defamation case

Sultanpur: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi appeared in Sultanpur court this morning after postponing his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. The matter is related to the defamation case filed by BJP. According to Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, the yatra resumed at 2 pm. However, at the end of the day the court granted bail in this case. The next hearing of this case is on March 2.

According to available information, in a press conference in Bengaluru, Rahul Gandhi sharply criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah and called him a murderer. Therefore, BJP leader Vijay Mishra had filed a defamation case against him. It was said that the entire BJP is also involved with Amit Shah. It was said in that petition that in fact, the special CBI court of Mumbai had acquitted Amit Shah in the fake encounter case in 2005.

Raising this issue, BJP leader Vijay Mishra argued in the court here through his lawyer that Rahul Gandhi had accused Amit Shah in Bengaluru that he is a murderer. I am very sad to know this. Vijay Mishra's lawyer said that if Rahul is found guilty in this case, he can be sentenced to a maximum punishment of two years.
