It is noteworthy that when the results came in Haryana, it seemed that Congress would win in Haryana, but gradually the results started changing. BJP managed to retain power for the third time by winning 48 seats while Congress could win only 37 seats. The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won two seats, while three seats were won by independent candidates. Both Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) and AAP did not get any success in the elections. The vote percentage of BJP and Congress was almost equal. BJP got 39.94 percent votes while Congress got 39.09 percent votes.
