
News India Live, Digital Desk: Rahul Gandhi Attacks BJP in Karnataka: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahil Gandhi on Tuesday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants money and resources to reach only rich people, while the Congress wants money to reach the poor.
Addressing the Congress’s dedication Sankalp rally in Vijayanagar, he said, “BJP wants money and resources to go to selected rich people, while the Congress wants money to go to the poor.”
The former Congress president said, “It has been two years since the Congress government in Karnataka. We had promised five guarantee during the election. BJP and Prime Minister Modi said that the Congress will not fulfill the guarantee.”
He said, “Our first guarantee house Laxmi Yojana had to provide Rs 2,000 to 1 crore women every month. The Government of Karnataka provides this money in the accounts of millions of women. Our second guarantee was to provide 200 units of free electricity to crores of families under the Griha Jyoti Yojana.”
Poor people will benefit from digital registry: Rahul Gandhi
Focusing on the need for a digital registry, Rahul Gandhi said that this scheme will benefit the poor people of Karnataka. He said, “There should be a digital registry (of land) in the 21st century. The poor people of the state will benefit from our guarantee.”
According to the agency, he further said, “I also said that there are 50,000 families who still do not have ownership. We want them to get their ownership in the next 6 months. 2,000 revenue villages have been announced. We want 500 more revenue villages to be announced. Everyone in Karnataka should get their ownership.”
