Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been accused of injuring two BJP MPs after a scuffle broke out in the Parliament complex. Regarding this incident, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju targeted Rahul Gandhi and said,
“It is not manly to push an MP. Parliament is not a wrestling arena.”
What is the matter?
There was a scuffle between the opposition and NDA MPs in the Parliament complex over the alleged insult to BR Ambedkar.
- BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi (Odisha) and Mukesh Rajput (Uttar Pradesh) were injured in this clash.
- Both were admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in critical condition, where their condition is now said to be better.
- The BJP has accused Rahul Gandhi of pushing the senior MP, causing his injuries.
- Rahul Gandhi has completely rejected these allegations.
Rijiju: ‘Violence in Parliament is unfortunate’
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju termed the incident as unfortunate and said,
“There are debates and exchange of words in Parliament, but physical violence is unacceptable. It is part of the tradition of Parliament since 1952 to exchange views, but raising hands on MPs is unfortunate and unforgivable.”
He said that the police action has been taken on the basis of injuries suffered by BJP MPs.

‘Parliament is not a wrestling arena’
Rijiju taunted by pointing to Rahul Gandhi’s black belt in the Japanese martial art Aikido,
“Have you learned karate or kung fu to inflict violence on MPs?”
Criticizing the attitude of Congress, he said,
“This shameful behavior of Congress is unacceptable. We have numerical strength, we do not need politics of scuffles and fights. The Congress party should apologize to Parliament and the country for this incident.”

Attacking Congress, Rijiju said that this incident is bringing down the dignity of Parliament. He appealed to the Congress leaders,
“The Congress party should publicly apologize for this conduct of Rahul Gandhi. There is no place for physical violence in Parliament.”
BJP’s complaint and Congress’s defense
BJP has filed a police complaint against Rahul Gandhi.
- The complaint states that Rahul deliberately pushed the BJP MPs.
- Congress has rejected these allegations and called it a conspiracy by BJP.
