Ranchi, September 2 (HS). An anti-ragging awareness cum oath program was organized on Monday under the joint aegis of the National Service Scheme unit and Anti-Ragging Squad of the Postgraduate Political Science and History Department of Ranchi University. The program was organized under the chairmanship of Dr. Sujata Singh, Head of the History Department.
The chief guest of the program, RU's DSW Dr. Sudesh Kumar Sahu said that ragging is prohibited for any institution and we all should collectively make an awareness campaign against ragging. He said that ragging harms the students studying in colleges and university departments.
Special guest of the program, RUK Dr. BK Sinha said that NSS should run awareness campaigns against ragging and make students aware. He said that due to high incidence of ragging in technical educational institutions, junior students studying there have to live under a lot of stress. We have to take positive initiatives to make our campus free from ragging.
In the programme, the Chairman of the Department of Political Science, Dr. Vagish Chandra Verma, the Programme Coordinator of NSS, Dr. Brajesh Kumar, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Singh jointly discussed the ill-effects of ragging and explained in detail the measures to avoid it.
