- The future of Rohit Sharma’s Test career will also be discussed.
Why was Rohit Sharma out of the last test?
According to reports, Rohit Sharma had ruled himself out of the final Test to give India one last chance to qualify for the WTC (World Test Championship) 2025 final.
- India’s hopes of going to the WTC final ended after the loss.
- Now it remains to be seen whether Rohit wants to remain in the Test team or not.
BCCI’s stance and decision on Rohit’s future
A BCCI official said on condition of anonymity:
“Rohit was waiting to see if India would be able to make it to the WTC final. Now it entirely depends on him and the selection committee whether he wants to continue Test cricket or not.”
- The final decision has to be taken by Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar and the selection committee.

- India’s next Test series will be played against England in late June.
