Prayagraj: Controversy has again arisen regarding the quality of food in Vande Bharat Express (22415) going from Varanasi to New Delhi. This is the second incident within three months when insects were found in food served in the train. The passenger has lodged his complaint in the complaint book. Earlier on September 1, a cockroach was found in the breakfast omelette in the same train.
A traveler going from Prayagraj to New Delhi found a worm in his vegetable.
This time the name of the passenger who was the victim of the incident is Vikas Kumar, who was traveling from Prayagraj to New Delhi. He was sitting on seat number 25 of C-3 coach. When the catering staff served him food and he started eating the vegetable, he saw a worm in it.
Uproar after complaint
After Vikas Kumar’s complaint, nearby passengers also checked their breakfast and food. There was an uproar in the train as soon as the news of worms being found in the food came to light. TTE and IRCTC staff tried to handle the situation, but in view of the anger of the passengers, a complaint was registered against Vikas.

The incident occurred when the train was near Fatehpur station. Passengers said that there have been complaints in the past regarding the quality of food in Vande Bharat. Earlier, incidents of finding cockroaches in food were also reported in Agra-Hazrat Nizamuddin Vande Bharat and Shirdi-Mumbai Vande Bharat.
IRCTC took cognizance, fined the contractor
In this matter, IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) has taken a strict stance and imposed a fine on the contractor for serving poor quality food. The contract for food in Vande Bharat Express is with RK Associates of Delhi.

Due to such incidents continuously, the image of a high-profile train like Vande Bharat is being adversely affected. Questions are being raised on the catering services of Railways due to lack of improvement in the quality of food despite complaints from passengers.
