Ranchi, March 14 (HS). BJP State President Babulal Marandi made a big target on the state government while posting on social media X on Thursday. He said that journalists are not obliged to tell anyone the source of news. Still, Ranchi Police wants to put pressure on the journalists and get their sources regarding a fake and headless case filed by Hemant Soren against the ED people.
Marandi said that ED has been taking action to expose the corruption going on under the patronage of JMM-Congress government in Jharkhand for the last two years, which has also been covered in local and national media. It is the job of journalists to bring out inside news but Jharkhand Police misusing the law to put pressure on journalists is tantamount to an attack on the fourth pillar of democracy.
Marandi said that the DGP of Jharkhand Police and the SSP of Ranchi should neither become the toolkit of the corrupt government nor allow any other policemen to become so. Learn a lesson by seeing the consequences of those who did wrong in the past. Let the journalists do their work and try to stop the rampant crime and police extortion in the state.
