Beijing: The war continues in Ukraine. There is no end in sight to this. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived on a visit to China. A new strategy for the Ukraine war is being considered with Chinese President Xi-Jin Ping. Putin, who arrived in Beijing by a special flight from Moscow, was welcomed on the red carpet at the airport. As soon as he got off the plane, he met Xi and Xi's wife. After this he was given a guard of honour. A grand reception was then held in his honor at the Great Hall of the People (Parliament House). After this 15-minute ceremony, both the leaders started talking.
Regarding President Putin's visit to China, Putin's foreign policy advisor Yuri Usha Kao said that the President's visit to China is not unrelated. In fact, this is the return visit of President Xi Jinping to Moscow after being elected to the presidency for the third consecutive time last year.
Ushakov further said that the most important part of the Beijing talks was the face-to-face talks between the two. After this, talks will be held in 1+4 (President + Foreign Minister, Defense Minister, Finance Minister + Chief of Staff) format. Most emphasis will be on Ukraine war.
Putin reached Beijing with a large delegation. Also included were five deputy prime ministers, heads of economic, diplomatic and security agencies, the head of the Railway Rostov State Atomic Energy Corporation and the head of the Ros-Kolos State Space Science Corporation. Russian news agency Tass said.
Apart from this, senior officials from 20 states of the Russian Federation were also included in this large delegation.
Russia-China bilateral talks included trade and economic cooperation. But Ukraine-war remained a major topic and the issue of environmental problems arising from that war also attracted attention.
This is the reason why Western countries force China to stay away from Russia. But it is unlikely to succeed.
This is Putin's second visit to China since last October. Notably, Putin's visit to China comes almost immediately after Xi-Jin Ping's recent visit to France, Hungary and Serbia.
