The Russian President said, 'The purpose of BRICS has never been against anyone in any way. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also said that BRICS is not anti-West but a non-Western group. Putin said, 'I am very grateful to PM Modi for raising the issue of Russia-Ukraine conflict.'
PM Modi will visit Russia on 22-23 October
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Russia to attend the 16th BRICS summit to be held in Kazan on October 22-23 at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from BRICS member countries and leaders in the Russian city of Kazan.
PM Modi's second visit to Russia in 2024
This will be Prime Minister Modi's second visit to Russia this year. He went to Moscow for an informal meeting with the President of Russia. It was also his first visit to Moscow after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Recently in the month of August, Prime Minister Modi had spoken to the Russian President and requested for an early resolution of the Ukraine dispute. The conversation took place days after Prime Minister Modi visited Kiev and met Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
