MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the resumption of production of intermediate-range missiles after the treaty with the United States that banned their production was signed in 1988 between Gorbachev and Reagan, the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty that banned the production of missiles with a range of 500 to 5,500 km.
The US terminated this treaty with Russia in 2019 citing violations of the treaty by Russia.
Putin said that even though the United States had terminated this treaty, Russia would not have produced these missiles, but today the United States is not only producing these missiles but has also brought them to Europe and is also practicing with them. Recently it had also announced to deploy this missile in the Philippines. Apart from this, Russia has forced ten thousand of its natural migrants to fight on the Ukrainian front. While some migrants decided to leave the country instead of fighting.
Russia is accused of forcing Central Asian migrants to join its military forces. It has launched a massive recruitment drive for its military campaign against Ukraine. Migrants are also monitored.
Russia has liberalised its rules to allow migrants to settle there because of a labour shortage. Many such Central Asians have been granted Russian citizenship.
Apart from this, five people have died in the attack of Ukrainian drone on Russia's Kursk region. Two children are also among those killed. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force has claimed to have shot down ten Russian drones.
