Guwahati, 18 November (HS). Northeast Frontier Railway (NUFR) today celebrated “Tribal Pride Day” to commemorate the birth anniversary of national tribal hero Lord Birsa Munda. This program was organized at Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Sabha Hall located in the headquarters campus of Pusire.
Pusire’s CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma has told today that Pusire’s General Manager Chetan Kumar Srivastava along with other officers lit the lamp and paid tribute to tribal freedom fighter Lord Birsa Munda by offering flowers on his portrait. On this occasion, the General Manager mentioned the role of this freedom fighter in restoring the traditional land rights of the tribals, which were suppressed by the colonial and contemporary authorities.
Officers, employees of the full headquarters and representatives of various associations and unions were also present in the program.
