Pushire records significant growth in freight loading in September

Guwahati, 10 October (Hindustan Reporter). Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has been recording steady progress in goods loading. Railways has recorded freight loading of 0.891 million tonnes in September.

Pusire's CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma said on Thursday that there has been a significant increase in the loading of some commodities during the month of September of the current year as compared to the same period last year. During this month, there has been an increase of 80 percent in cement loading, 10.2 percent in food grains loading, 23.5 percent in fertilizer loading and 7.7 percent in container loading as compared to the same period last year. Other commodities such as timber and ballast loading recorded an increase of 275 per cent and 44.9 per cent respectively compared to the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

An increase of 152.4 percent has also been recorded in the loading of miscellaneous goods. There has been an increase during this period as compared to the same period of the last financial year. The continued increase in freight loading reflects the growing economic activity in the region. The cumulative cargo loading of Pusheere till September, 2024 has reached 5.368 million tonnes, showing an increase of 7.2 per cent compared to the same period last year. This growing trend in freight transportation has not only strengthened the economic position of the region but also generated significant revenue for Pusire. As Pushire continues to progress in freight transportation, it is focusing on technological upgrades to enhance the reliability and efficiency of its services, thereby ensuring further growth in the future.
