Puri Jagannath Temple: There have been reports of theft of precious jewels from Puri's Jagannath temple. Actually, a member of the committee formed by the government to take care of this Ratna Bhandar has expressed this doubt. He suspected that earlier fake keys were used to steal precious items.

The panel met under the chairmanship of Vishwanath Rath in Puri on Monday, after which committee member Jagdish Mohanty made sensational allegations. According to a report published in an English newspaper, after the meeting, Mohanty said, 'An attempt was made to open the locks with fake keys, but the locks did not open and eventually the locks broke. Which clearly shows that the intention was to steal valuables. The issue of fake keys was a hoax, as an attempt to steal cannot be ruled out.'

Two fake keys were made by the administration

Actually, in the year 2018, the original keys of this treasure were lost. Then two fake keys were made by the entire administration. However, when an attempt was made to open the Ratna Bhandar on July 14, these keys did not work. After this, the committee members had to break all the three locks of the rooms inside the Ratna Bhandar.

A retired IAS officer raised this issue in the meeting

Retired IAS officer Mohanty raised the issue in the meeting. However, the committee has no authority or power to recommend the government to initiate a criminal investigation. Mohanty said, 'The temple administration can inform the government about our doubts.

On July 14, some boxes were found open in the inner room

Talking about the open boxes, retired IAS officer Mohanty said that on July 14, some boxes were found open in the inner room. The inner room had three wooden safes, one steel cupboard, two wooden chests and one iron chest. Sources in the temple administration said that only one wooden cupboard was found closed, while the rest were open.

PM Modi also criticized the previous BJD government

On May 11, during an election rally in Odisha, PM Modi had targeted the previous BJD government over fake keys. PM Modi asked, 'Losing real keys is a very serious matter and having fake keys is even more worrying. Were fake chalices used to grab the ornaments of God?'
