Punjab Governor administers oath of office to three new State Information Commissioners. Punjab Governor and Administrator of Union Territory Chandigarh Shri Gulab Chand Kataria today administered the oath of office to Advocates Dr. Bhupinder Singh Baath, Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal and Virinderjit Singh Billing as new State Information Commissioners of the Right to Information Commission. The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Punjab Chief Secretary Mr Anurag Verma. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Khair, Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Punjab Chief Information Commissioner Inderpal Singh Dhanna and other senior officials attended the swearing-in ceremony.
It is noteworthy that the appointment of the newly appointed State Information Commissioners of Punjab was formally notified by the Punjab Government on 12 August 2024. The appointment of these new State Information Commissioners will bring more transparency in the functioning of the Commission.
