The Bhagwant Mann government has taken major action on alleged irregularities in the transfer of 179 acres of land from the state government for residential and commercial projects in Punjab.
The government has ordered Chief Secretary Anurag Verma to suspend Chief Town Planner Pankaj Bajwa and later issue a charge sheet against him. After this order, Vigilance registered a case against Pankaj Bawa on Saturday morning and arrested him.
According to reports, M/s Bawa Developer Limited was passed a residential and commercial project on 179 acres of land in villages Singhpur, Hasanpur and Jandpur falling under Mohali district from the state government.
As per the decision taken by the Empowered Committee on 22 March 2013, Bajwa promoter did not deposit one percent of the project cost or maximum of Rs 1 crore as cancer relief fund to the government, due to which the government has taken major action against Bajwa. .
