Puneri Paltan wins PKL 10 title, Ashu Malik chosen best raider

Hyderabad, March 2 (HS). The mighty Puneri Paltan defeated the young and strong Haryana Steelers to lift their first Pro Kabaddi League trophy, and etch their name in the history of the league. Paltan captured the trophy by defeating Steelers 28-25 in a thrilling match at the GMC Balayogi Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday night.

Puneri Paltan's defense gave early lead to their team by catching Haryana Steelers raiders Shivam Patare and Vinay. However, Goyat was tackled by Ankit to put the Steelers on the scoreboard in the final. This boosted their confidence as Rahul Sethpal took the lead in keeping the clash interesting with his defence.

The final match of PKL 10 was a close contest in the first half as Haryana Steelers had answers to all the raids of Puneri Paltan. However, a moment of magic from Pankaj Mohite helped them complete a four-point Super Raid, giving Paltan a decisive lead. Ashish's successful raid in the final seconds for the Steelers meant the score became 10–13 in the last 20 minutes of the season 10 tie.

The only all out in the final came from Mohit Goyat's raiding, giving Puneri Paltan a substantial lead at the start of the second half. However, this did not dampen the enthusiasm of the young Haryana Steelers as the Haryana Raiders came forward and scored as many bonus points as possible to bring their team closer to Puneri Paltan.

Pankaj Mohite proved to be a game-changer for Puneri Paltan in the grand finale as Haryana Steelers' resilience produced a brilliant performance to keep the fans on the edge of their seats. Siddharth Desai dismissed Puneri Paltan captain Aslam Inamdar and star all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadlaoui to give his team hope, but Puneri Paltan remained true to their form and captured their first PKL trophy and became the best team in Season 10. Proved his worth to be.

The Best Raider of Season 10 award was won by Ashu Malik, the Best Defender award went to Mohammadreza Shadlaoui, while the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament was named Aslam Inamdar.
