Umaria, 5 June (HS). Anish Avadhiya, a young engineer from Pali Nagar of Umaria district, worked in a software company in Pune along with his girlfriend. He was returning home on his bike with his girlfriend, Jabalpur resident Ashwin Koshta, around 2 am on the night of 18 May, when a rich man ran over them with his Porsche car, resulting in the death of both the engineers.
The media exposed this incident and the case made headlines due to being high profile. Pune police continued to take action in this case, the minor who committed the incident and many other people including his father have been arrested. After that incident, the family of the deceased Aneesh kept pleading for justice. Now, 18 days after the incident, Pune's Additional Commissioner of Police reached Umaria and along with Additional SP Umaria Pratipal Singh Mahobia reached Pali to meet the family of the deceased.
The deceased's father Om Prakash Avadhiya says that perhaps Pune's CP Sir has sent Manoj Patil to inform about the investigation that is being done. Our demand is that CBI should investigate in lieu of their lax attitude. We are satisfied with the action that is being taken now, we will see what happens next.
On the other hand, the deceased's uncle Surya Prakash Avadhiya says that today ACP Manoj Patil came from Pune and told that I have come to inform you about the action that is being taken, till now you people were getting information through media, we had imposed section 304 on the same day because he is a minor and had come to give us the paper, he also said that Aneesh's younger brother also studies there, in reference to him he has said that if he needs anything then he can contact us.
Additional Police Commissioner Manoj Patil said that we had come to express our condolences on behalf of the Police Commissioner and secondly, we have met his family and his father to inform them about what the police has done so far. They have some suggestions about the accident in which he died. It is our duty to consider them and we have listened to them. The investigation is underway. The crime branch of Pune Police is investigating it and it is going on well. We are trying to cover all the angles of the investigation. When the media asked that the police is not working properly and hence a CBI inquiry has been demanded, he said that it was not a dialogue but we have discussed it together.
