Pune: Election Commission recovered Rs 5 crore, investigation continues

Mumbai, 22 October (Hindustan Reporter). The Election Commission has recovered Rs 5 crore from a car last night near Khed-Shivpur toll point on Pune-Bengaluru highway in Pune district. This matter is being thoroughly investigated.

According to the information, last night the rural police team of Rajgarh police station was blocking near Khed Shivpur toll point of Pune district. During this, the police stopped a suspicious car and searched it. Rs 5 crore in cash was found in the car, which was confiscated by the police. However, Rajgarh police released those who took the money along with the car after minor questioning.

Rajgarh police brought the seized money to the police station and informed the election department officials, District Magistrate and Income Tax officer about the matter. As soon as this information was received, the Election Commission team reached Rajgarh Police Station and seized Rs 5 crore. The Election Commission team is investigating such a huge amount of money.

It is being told that the car from which Rs 5 crore was recovered is registered in the name of a person named Amol Nalawade of Sangola. The Election Commission team is thoroughly investigating the matter.
