Haldwani, 30 September (HIST). The indefinite strike being run near Ramlila Maidan Rampur Road Sugarcane Center under the auspices of Kisan Makan Bachao Sangharsh Samiti demanding cancellation of Ring Road Project continued for the 19th day on Monday. The committee officials accused the MP and MLA of ignoring the demands and have now decided to approach the court.

The founder president of the committee, Karthik Upadhyay, said during a press conference held at a restaurant on Nainital Road that even after continuous dharna, the district administration is not ready to talk to the villagers. It is the responsibility of the District Magistrate that if the women in the village are sitting on strike due to the fear of the cow shed being destroyed, then contact them. He told that after the visit of the MLA, dissatisfaction has now arisen among the people living on the edge of the forest in the village. All the villagers are demanding a written order to cancel the survey of the Ring Road project from their villages, fields and houses.

The committee alleged that the pillars were laid by the PWD to demarcate the construction block without the consent of the farmers and village heads. The committee announced that they would completely oppose the Ring Road project and demand its cancellation. He said that rural roads are 40 to 50 feet wide, which can be used to reduce traffic pressure.

During the press conference, vice president of the committee Nikki Durgapal, Uttarakhand Unemployed Sangh Kumaon convenor Bhupendra Koranga, social worker Kusum Lata Baudai, Laxman Singh Bora, Lalitmohan Joshi were present.
