Jammu, May 5 (HS). Shiv Sena Hindustan workers on Sunday staged a strong demonstration in Kool Kalyan against the Irrigation Department, accusing it of not maintaining the irrigation canals. Speaking against the Irrigation Department, Kesari said that when the department starts cleaning the canals with JCBs, the banks of the canals get broken and when the canal passes through the village settlement, during the rainy season or when water is released into the canal. Then the canal water enters the residential areas through the broken banks and the entire colony gets polluted.
Kesari further said that due to broken banks of the irrigation canal passing through Kool Kalayan village, all the water enters the village settlement, causing problems to the people. It becomes difficult for children to go to school in the morning. The water level in the village rises so much that people have to take off their clothes and carry them on their shoulders. Many times he takes off his shoes with his hands. Children's books get wet in water.
Kesari said that repeated efforts have been made to get the government to pay attention to this burning issue, but the actions are taken only to throw dust in the eyes of innocent people, which later causes huge difficulties for the local people. Because when the situation becomes worse, no one from the concerned department pays attention to it. He requested the government to pay attention to the border areas as soon as possible.
