Jaunpur, 02 August (HS). The beauty of Ganga Aarti of Varanasi will now reach Gomti Ghat in Jaunpur. On the lines of Ganga, weekly Aarti will be started on the ghats of Gomti. For this, a proposal has been sought from the District Ganga Committee to send five people to Haridwar for training.
To give a concrete shape to the plan, the District Ganga Committee has been formed. The District Magistrate has been made its President. The weekly aarti will begin from the city's Gopi Ghat, Achala Devi Mandir Ghat and Jamaitha Ghat in Jaffrabad. The Forest Department will play the role of coordinator in this campaign. In the second phase, preparations have been made to start this grand event on the banks of the Sai River as well.
Ganga Aarti of Varanasi has a lot of importance. In such a situation, this unique initiative will further increase the fame of the district. The District Magistrate is the chairman in the District Ganga Committee. Apart from this, EO Nagar Palika, Executive Engineer PWD Provincial Section, Executive Engineer Irrigation Department, CMO, Executive Engineer Jal Nigam, Rural Engineering Service and Chief Development Officer have been given the responsibility of members. In this, all the officers will not only establish coordination with each other, but will also conduct the Gomti Aarti in a systematic manner.
On talking about this matter on Friday, DFO Praveen Khare said that a proposal has been sought at the government level to conduct aarti on the banks of the Gomti river on the lines of the Ganga. A detailed action plan will be prepared and sent. Executive Officer of Nagar Palika Parishad Jaunpur Pawan Kumar said that as per the government's intention, whatever guidelines will be issued for the cleaning campaign of Adi Ganga Gomti and related to aarti, they will be followed 100%.
