Proposal for MOU between Commonwealth University of America and Sampurnanand Sanskrit University

Varanasi, August 10 (HS). Commonwealth University, Lock Haven Campus, Pennsylvania, United States has proposed an MoU for educational and cultural exchange with Sampurnanand Sanskrit University. On Saturday, a delegation from Commonwealth University met the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Bihari Lal Sharma. The delegation, led by Dr. Richa Sharma, while presenting its proposal to Vice Chancellor Prof. Sharma, said that Commonwealth University is interested in exploring the Indian knowledge tradition. Through the agreement, we can build a strong relationship between the two institutions. Under this agreement, both the institutions will organize educational and cultural programs with each other, which will include exchange of students and teachers. Apart from this, both the institutions will jointly work on research projects and share knowledge and experiences with each other.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Sharma was invited to deliver a lecture on Indian Knowledge Tradition at Commonwealth University of the United States in February. Vice Chancellor Prof. Sharma said that global interest in the exploration of Indian knowledge tradition is increasing. For this purpose, the delegation of Commonwealth University has proposed an MoU with this Oriental Studies Institute. This exchange program will prove to be effective in promoting inter-cultural understanding and providing academic cooperation. The Vice Chancellor said that this proposal (agreement) will be an important step for the study and research of Indian Knowledge Tradition. He said that the MoU will be signed after the proposals from both the places are legally agreed and edited. This agreement will remain in force for five (05) years from the date of signing. The University has agreed to the proposal for MoU. During this, Dr. Padmakar Mishra, Director of the University's Publication Institute, Dr. Ruchi Sharma and senior officers were present.
