Ranchi, 30 September (HS). Under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, “Cleanliness is Service” awareness campaign is being run by the Government of India from 14th September to 2nd October. Under this campaign, on Monday, the 'Climate and Sustainability' team of Piramal Foundation is organizing various programs in Jharkhand in collaboration with the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (Ranchi) and the Ministry of Jal Shakti. In this sequence, many important activities were organized with the aim of promoting cleanliness in various rural areas of Kanke and Ormanjhi blocks. The main objective of these activities was to make the villagers aware of cleanliness and to make them understand the importance of cleanliness.

Every year, a garbage cleaning campaign is conducted under the Swachhta Hi Seva program, but the garbage is not disposed of properly. The garbage is deposited or burnt in the streets of the village or at any other place. This year, the Gandhi Fellows of Piramal Foundation recognized this problem and created a detailed plan for proper disposal of waste. Under this, cooperation was established with an organization named Muskaan Enterprise, which collects and processes plastic waste. Gandhi Fellows planned how to ensure that waste collection vehicles operate in the villages of Kanke and Ormanjhi blocks and that waste is properly transported to the dump yard.

Appreciating this work, the Block Development Officer of Kanke Block sent an official letter to every Gram Panchayat to complete it successfully. Piramal Foundation's Gandhi Fellows Sujoy Das, Vikas Kumar, Pragya Gargi, Priyanka Yadav, Pradyumna Mishra, Pratishan Dutta and team leader Kriti Rani were present.
