East Champaran, March 08 (HS). A grand program was organized at Mahatma Gandhi Central University on International Women's Day on Friday, in which the achievements and contributions of women across the world were respectfully remembered. The program was organized by the Department of Political Science in which the Vice Chancellor was present as the chief patron. Which highlighted the historical, political contributions of women and the legal aspects that protected them.
Keynote speaker Dr. Heena Chandra, speaking on the topic of women empowerment, highlighted the factors and transformative potential of advancing gender equality and emphasized that true empowerment can be achieved only through education and awareness. This was supported by Professor Sunil Mahawar, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
The program was presided over by Professor Shahana Mazumdar while Dr. Sarita Tiwari played the important role of coordinator. Recognizing the invaluable contribution of all the participants for the success of the program, vote of thanks was given by Dr. Rashmi Srivastava, Assistant Professor in the Department of Education. The program was efficiently conducted by Dr. Manisha. Heads of departments, teachers and students of various departments of the university were present in the program.
