Rewa, March 11 (HS). Additional Chief Secretary Smita Ghate Bhardwaj reviewed wheat procurement and distribution of food grains in Rewa and Shahdol divisions in a meeting organized through video conferencing on Monday. On this occasion, he said that only good quality wheat should be purchased from farmers. A bonus of Rs 125 has been declared by the government on wheat. Now wheat will be purchased at the rate of Rs 2400 per quintal. The date for registration of farmers has also been extended till March 16. Therefore, make efforts to register as many farmers as possible.
He said that this year both the registration of farmers for procurement and the area under wheat have decreased in Rewa and Shahdol divisions. But the number of registration of farmers can be increased by increasing the support price and increasing the date of registration. All collectors should get 100% verification of the area of wheat recorded by registered farmers.
Additional Chief Secretary said that only good quality wheat should be procured from registered farmers. If any committee procures low quality wheat from the prescribed FAQs, then take strict action against it. It is mandatory to have fan, filter, grader machine and masher meter in the procurement centers and the percentage of masher in the wheat coming for procurement should be between 12 to 14. Experienced persons will be appointed as surveyors to test the mass. It is mandatory to put up flexes in every procurement center explaining the provisions of procurement and the functions of the committee and the responsibilities of the farmers and take strict action against those who commit irregularities in storage and maintenance.
He said that Madhya Pradesh is a major state supplying wheat to the Central Government, hence there should be no compromise in the quality of the wheat procured. He instructed to complete all preparations before procurement and ensure necessary arrangements in the centres.
While giving instructions to the officials, the Additional Chief Secretary said that wheat coming from outside the district or from traders will not be procured under any circumstances. Strictly monitor the transportation of wheat by setting up check posts in the districts whose borders are connected to other states. Also prepare flying squads to monitor wheat transportation. For procurement, create warehouse level procurement centers on priority and ensure arrangements in the centers as per instructions. Those committees and self-help groups which have been negligent in procurement should be separated from wheat procurement. Make field staff of Revenue Department, Agriculture Department, Rural Development Department and farmers aware regarding procurement.
Reviewing the public distribution system, the Additional Chief Secretary said that adequate quantity of food grains should be stored in fair price shops and 100 percent distribution should be ensured. No eligible ration card holder should be deprived of food grains. All revenue officers including the Collector should inspect the fair price shops regularly. Seeding of mobile numbers and e-KYC of beneficiaries of Food Security Scheme should be done 100%. During the review meeting, district wise information about PVTG families under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and inspection of shops through mobile app was also obtained.
In the meeting, Commissioner of Rewa and Shahdol divisions, Gopalchandra Dad, while giving information about the arrangements made for procurement, said that verification of registered farmers was done. He gave information about the arrangements made for storage, transportation, payment to farmers as well as procurement and procurement centres. During the video conferencing in the Commissioner's office, Chief Executive Officer District Panchayat Dr. Saurabh Sonawane, Additional Collector Sapna Tripathi, Deputy Commissioner DS Singh and related departmental officers were present.
