Hisar, May 20 (Hissar). A voter awareness program was organized on Monday at the Agricultural College of Haryana Agricultural University. In this program organized by the Directorate of Student Welfare, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. BR Kamboj was the chief guest and University alumnus and Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner Taruna Lamba was present as the chief speaker.
Pro. Kamboj said that voting has special importance in democracy. We should come forward and vote in a free, fair and peaceful manner. Our country is the largest democratic country in the world, hence our responsibility also becomes bigger. Only the voter decides the future of democracy, only if the voter is aware he will be able to use his vote properly. He said that when a citizen goes to vote, he should cast his vote like an informed voter.
He also called for spreading the importance of voting among the masses so that more and more citizens can cast their vote in the Lok Sabha elections to be held on May 25. Voting enables citizens to express their preferences about how they want their government to be run. It is a direct way for the people to influence government decisions and policies, ensuring that elected representatives reflect the wishes of the voters. He also administered an oath to everyone present at the program to vote.
