A prisoner Mohd Shahid Ansari, admitted in Sheikh Bhikhari Medical Hospital, escaped after killing policeman Chauhan on Monday morning. After this incident, chaos spread. After the incident, there was a stir in the entire police-administrative department. On receiving the information of the incident, Hazaribagh DC Nancy Sahay, SP Arvind Kumar Singh, Sadar SDPO Kumar Shivashish and many senior police officers reached the spot.
The prisoner who escaped after killing the policeman deployed for security was a convicted prisoner. It is said that several murder cases are registered against him in Bokaro. He was undergoing treatment at Hazaribagh Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College for some days. District force police personnel Chauhan Habrom was deployed at Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital for his security. According to information, the escaped prisoner is a resident of Bokaro Chas.
JP Central Jail Superintendent Jitendra Kumar said that prisoner Shahid Ansari had a complaint in the right side of the body. The prisoner was undergoing treatment at RIMS in May 2024. From there, he was referred to AIIMS on June 1, 2024. After being referred to AIIMS, he was brought to Hazaribagh Jail under government procedure. After this, he was admitted to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital on 27 July 2024. The process of sending him to AIIMS was going on. It is known that Shahid Ansari was convicted of murder and rape in Dhanbad. On January 11, 2019, he was brought to Hazaribagh from Dhanbad Jail from a security point of view. Shahid Ansari was lodged in Hazaribagh Jail for about five years.
