Principal Secretary of Home Department and DGP held a meeting regarding Ram Navami festival, gave many instructions

Ranchi, 13 April (Hindu). Home Department Principal Secretary Vandana Dadel and DGP Ajay Kumar Singh jointly held a law and order review meeting on the occasion of Ram Navami festival at Project Bhawan on Saturday. During this, the Principal Secretary and DGP also gave many directions to the officers. During the meeting, the DGP directed all the districts to maintain peace on the occasion of Ram Navami. Besides keeping an eye on anti-social elements and miscreants, he directed to take preventive action against them, physical verification of procession routes and monitoring of religious places.

District wise review of law and order and crime control was done in the meeting. These include the cases registered during Ramnavmi in the last three years and the action taken against them, preventive action taken on the occasion of Ramnavmi festival 2024, number of Ramnavmi procession akharas, date of procession and period from start to end of the procession, physical structure of the procession routes. Verification, protective action taken at sensitive places falling on the procession routes, arrangements for continuous lighting in the procession routes, joint control room and emergency planning, availability and deputation of forces and magistrates, updated status of the peace committee meeting, DJ and others. The review includes control over the use of provocative songs through the sound system, provision of food and water etc. for the security forces, medical facilities during the procession, videography of the procession and arrangements for aerial surveillance through drones and monitoring of religious places.

During the meeting, area-wise presentation of the road map prepared for law and order in view of Ram Navami was given by all the regional Inspectors General of Police. Actions are being taken to monitor the religious places and pay attention to the security of the religious places through all the Senior Superintendents of Police and Superintendents of Police of the district, by holding meetings of the social committees and resolving their minor difficulties, by holding meetings with the Akhara committees and holding processions. Verification of routes, resolution of difficulties related to taking out processions in sensitive areas, action against DJs playing inflammatory songs, special monitoring of social media and WhatsApp, strict action against those who try to spoil the atmosphere during Ram Navami.
