Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for a two-day Bhutan tour from today. PM Modi will make an official visit to Bhutan on 22-23 March. PM Modi's plane took off from Delhi for Bhutan this morning. PM Modi's visit to Bhutan was earlier scheduled for March 21-22, but due to bad weather, PM Modi's visit was postponed and the Indian Ministry of External Affairs soon spoke to the Bhutanese government and asked them to announce new dates. However, after mutual consent, PM Modi left for Bhutan today.

During his Bhutan visit, PM Modi will meet Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Prime Minister Tshering Tobagy. Tshering Tobgay, who will become PM of Bhutan in February 2024, visited India earlier this month. Apart from this, King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk also visited India recently. At that time the King of Bhutan had invited PM Modi to visit Bhutan.
