Varanasi, 16 October (HS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give a big gift to the sports lovers of Purvanchal in his parliamentary constituency before Diwali. During the proposed Varanasi visit on October 20, the Prime Minister will inaugurate Phase-2 and Phase-3 of the National Center of Excellence Stadium at Dr. Sampurnanand Stadium in Sigra. Prime Minister Modi has inaugurated Phase-1 in 2023. With the new construction of the stadium, players of more than 20 sports will get an opportunity to showcase their talent on the international platform. Dr. Sampurnanand Sigra Sports Stadium has been redeveloped at a cost of Rs 325.65 crore. The stadium building is built as per the standard of the house.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is becoming a big hub of sports. Along with improving the infrastructure of the game, the players have also got a good environment. This has also increased the number of medals in international matches. With the construction of this stadium, more international players will emerge from the soil of Purvanchal. A multi-sports, multi-level modern indoor stadium has been constructed in Kashi. Chief General Manager of Smart City, Dr. D Vasudevan said that the redevelopment of Dr. Sampurnanand Sigra Sports Stadium has been done in three phases at a cost of more than Rs 325.65 crore. The stadium will have both indoor and outdoor facilities.

Players of Purvanchal will now get to watch international matches in Varanasi only. The sports complex also has facilities like gym, spa, yoga centre, pool billiards and banquet hall with cafeteria. The multi-sports, multi-level modern indoor stadium has also been designed keeping in mind the standards. Para sports competitions can also be held here. The first phase was constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 109.36 crore. The second and third phases were constructed for approximately Rs 216.29 crore.

An international level stadium here will prove to be a boon for Purvanchal.
