New Delhi, 23 February (HS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi today (Friday) on the last day of his two-day tour of Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. The Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth over Rs 13,000 crore at a public ceremony at 1:45 pm. Earlier yesterday, he had gifted development projects worth more than Rs 60,000 crore to his home state Gujarat.
According to the Press Information Bureau (PIB) of the Government of India, Prime Minister Modi will present awards to the winners of the Sansad Sanskrit Competition at the Independence Hall of Banaras Hindu University. At 11:15 am, the Prime Minister will worship and visit the birthplace of Saint Guru Ravidas. At 11:30 am, the Prime Minister will attend a public function to commemorate the 647th birth anniversary of Saint Guru Ravidas. At 1:45 pm, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth Rs 13,000 crore in a public ceremony.
According to the PIB, since 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has focused on the rejuvenation of Varanasi and its surrounding areas by launching several development projects for critical sectors such as roads, rail, aviation, tourism, education, health, drinking water, urban development and sanitation. is focused. Taking another step in this direction, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects costing more than Rs 13,000 crore in Varanasi.
To further improve the road connectivity of Varanasi, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several road projects including four-laning of the Ghargara-Bridge-Varanasi section of NH-233. Apart from this, they include four-laning of Sultanpur-Varanasi section of NH-56, Package-1, six-laning of Phase-1 of Varanasi-Aurangabad section of NH-19; Four-laning of Package-1 Varanasi-Hanumana section on NH-35 and construction of Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Expressway Package-1 including ROB near Babatpur on Varanasi-Jaunpur rail section will also be laid.
To give impetus to the industrial development in this region, Prime Minister Modi will be working on HPCL's LPG Bottling Plant at Sewapuri, Banas Kashi Cluster Milk Processing Unit at UPSIDA Agro Park, Karkhianv, various infrastructure works at UPSIDA Agro Park, Karkhianv and silk cloth printing for weavers. Will also inaugurate the Common Facility Center.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate several urban development projects in his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, including urban waste-to-charcoal plant by NTPC in Ramna; Upgradation of water supply network in Sis-Varuna area, and online effluent monitoring and SCADA automation of STPs and sewerage pumping stations are also included. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of several projects for the beautification of Varanasi, including rejuvenation projects of ponds and redevelopment of parks and a project for design and development of 3-D urban digital map and database.
Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate several projects related to tourism and spiritual tourism in Varanasi. These projects include ten spiritual journeys along the Panchkoshi Parikrama Marg and redevelopment of public facilities at five stops on the Pavan Path, launch of electric catamaran vessel provided by Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) for Varanasi and Ayodhya and seven change room floating jetties. And four community jetties are included. The electric catamaran will enhance the tourism experience in Ganga with the use of green energy. Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone of 13 community ghats of IWAI in various cities and Rapid Pontoon Opening Mechanism in Ballia.
To give a boost to the famous textile sector of Varanasi, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Varanasi. This new institute will strengthen the education and training infrastructure in the textile sector. Expanding the health infrastructure, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of a new medical college in Varanasi. He will also lay the foundation stone of National Center on Aging in BHU. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Sigra Sports Stadium Phase-1 and District Rifle Shooting Range, a step towards strengthening the sports infrastructure in the city.
Prime Minister Modi will present awards to the winners of Kashi Sansad Knowledge Competition, Kashi Sansad Photography Competition and Kashi Sansad Sanskrit Competition in the prize distribution ceremony at the Independence Auditorium of Banaras Hindu University. He will also distribute books, uniform sets, musical instruments and merit scholarships to Sanskrit students of Varanasi. He will also visit the Kashi Sansad Photography Competition Gallery and interact with the participants along with their photograph entries on the theme “Samvarti Kashi”.
Apart from this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the newly installed statue of Sant Ravidas in Ravidas Park near Sant Guru Ravidas Janmasthali Temple in Seer Govardhanpur near BHU. He will inaugurate various development works worth about Rs 32 crore around the Sant Ravidas birthplace and also lay the foundation stone for beautification of Sant Ravidas Museum and Park at a cost of about Rs 62 crore.
