New Delhi, 14 September (HS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi today wished all countrymen on Hindi Diwas in his X handle post. In a video message uploaded on X, he said, “Language is a means of expression. It cannot be stagnant. Just like there is consciousness in life, there is consciousness in language. I sometimes think that if I did not know how to speak and understand Hindi, how would I reach out to people, how would I understand what people say and I personally know the power of this language.”

It is noteworthy that Hindi is one of those languages ​​which is most widely spoken and understood in the world. Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi had even said that Hindi is the language of the masses. He had also recommended making it the national language of the country. Hindi was given the status of official language on 14 September 1949. Hindi Day is celebrated every year on 14 September since 1953 in the country.
