Prime Minister Modi in Vienna, said- India-Austria relations will be further strengthened, will meet President Alexander Van der Bellen today

Vienna, July 10 (HS). Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Austria last night after completing his two-day visit to Russia. Modi was given an unprecedented welcome in the Austrian capital. Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer organized a dinner in honour of Prime Minister Modi. During this, a picture of the two hugging each other has also surfaced. Prime Minister Modi said, the relations between New Delhi and Vienna will become stronger. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shared some 'word pictures' of this visit on his X handle.

Chancellor Nehammer said that it is a pleasure and honour for him to welcome Prime Minister Modi. He is looking forward to political and economic discussions. Nehammer also shared some 'word pictures' on his X handle. On this, Prime Minister Modi said, 'It is a pleasure to meet you. India-Austria friendship is strong. It will become stronger in the times to come. Both countries will continue to work together for global good.'

Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on X that this is an important milestone in India-Austria partnership. Prime Minister Modi was hosted by Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer for a private conversation. This is the first meeting between the two leaders. It will discuss realizing the full potential of the bilateral partnership.

Jaiswal said, “Both the countries are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year. This important visit will give new impetus to India-Austria relations. Prime Minister Modi will meet the President of the Republic of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen on Wednesday and hold talks with Nehammer. The Prime Minister and the Chancellor will also address business leaders from India and Austria.
In Vienna, Prime Minister Modi met the people of India living in Austria and enquired about their well-being. The Prime Minister accepted everyone's greetings with folded hands. During this time, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer was also present with Prime Minister Modi. Earlier in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin honored Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Russia's highest national award, the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle, at a special ceremony held at the Kremlin's St. Andrew Hall. This award was announced in 2019.

While accepting the award, the Prime Minister dedicated it to the people of India and the traditional bond of friendship between India and Russia. He said that this honour reflects the special and privileged strategic partnership between the two countries. This award was started 300 years ago. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is the first Indian leader to be honoured with this award.
