PM Narendra Modi at G20 Summit: During the G20 summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took some gifts for his counterpart leaders. Prime Minister Modi chose items that reflect Indian cultural heritage to gift to global leaders. This includes eight from Maharashtra, five from Jammu and Kashmir, three each from Andhra and Rajasthan, two each from Jharkhand and Bihar and one each from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Ladakh.
Prime Minister Modi spoke to Italian Prime Minister Meloni at the G20 summit. After this he gifted a silver candlestick made in Maharashtra. Additionally, Prime Minister Modi gifted a silver and rosewood ceremonial photo frame to Chile’s President Gabriel Boric.
While the Prime Minister of Guyana, Mark Phillips, was gifted a wooden Raj Sawari statue with gold carving from Rajasthan. Prime Minister Modi gifted the painting of Madhub of Bihar to the President of Guyana. During this, Prime Minister Modi gifted a silver photo frame with Rajasthani flowers to Argentine President Javier Milli.
Prime Minister Modi presented a hand-carved glass chess set with traditional Maharashtra design to Portuguese Prime Minister Luiz Montenegro. So, Prime Minister Modi gifted his friend, Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, a precious sapphire made in Pune with a replica of a camel’s head on it.
India’s priceless gift to global leaders
Prime Minister Modi gifted tribal art Warli painting to Brazilian President Lula. This art is basically the heritage of the Warli tribe living in Dahanu, Talsari and Palghar regions of Maharashtra. Prime Minister Modi gifted a silver colored purse studded with precious stones of Andhra Pradesh to the wife of the Brazilian President. At the same time, Modi gifted a Kohwar painting depicting the shared tribal life and culture of Jharkhand and Bihar to the President of Indonesia. When Prime Minister Modi gifted the famous Thanjavur painting of Tamil Nadu to his special friend French President Macron.
