New Delhi, July 11 (HS). After returning from his visit to Russia and Austria, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with NITI Aayog members and top economists in New Delhi on Thursday. The Prime Minister discussed fiscal strategies with them and sought their views and suggestions regarding the General Budget 2024-25. In the meeting held at NITI Aayog, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Beri, Prime Minister's Principal Secretary PK Mishra and other members of the think tank participated in the discussion on economic issues and presented their recommendations to the Prime Minister.
Union Minister Rao Indrajit Singh, Chief Economic Advisor V. Anantha Nageswaran, economists Surjit Bhalla and Ashok Gulati and senior banker K V Kamath were also present in the meeting.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the first budget of the third term of the Modi government in the Lok Sabha on July 23. The budget session of Parliament will begin on July 22 and the next day Sitharaman will present the Union Budget 2024-25 in the lower house of Parliament. It is noteworthy that while addressing the joint session of Parliament on June 27, the President had said that in the upcoming session his government would present the first budget of this term. This budget will be an effective document of the government's far-reaching policies and future vision. He had said that along with big economic and social decisions, many historic steps will also be seen in this budget.
