Prayagraj, 21 October (Hindustan Reporter). Corruption can be prevented first of all by imparting values to the children at home. We should perform our duties sincerely. We all should learn from the life of former President Abdul Kalam how he performed his duties.
The above idea was expressed by former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Arun Tandon in the auditorium of the administrative building at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (Triple IT) on Monday. Triple IT is celebrating a three month campaign on Preventive Vigilance on the theme “Culture of Integrity for the Prosperity of the Nation” from 16th August to 15th November as per the guidelines of CVC. Under this, the former Chief Justice gave his lecture.
He said that in all educational institutions, students should be informed about Kalam's ideals and inspiration should be taken from his works. He said that we all should have good knowledge of rules and regulations, so that we can avoid corruption. He said that all people should do their work honestly and transparently.
Director of the institute Prof. Mukul Sharad Sutwane said that if we work towards our duty in a cautious, conscious and transparent manner then corruption will automatically end. He said that the feeling of greed in humans has to be controlled in their mind and brain. Unless man can control himself he cannot be free from corruption. Somewhere in his mind his mind will be filled with greed and to fulfill that greed he will commit corruption knowingly or unknowingly.
Part-time Chief Vigilance Officer Dr. Rajat Kumar Singh said that corruption poses a major obstacle to the economic, political and social progress of the country. He said that corruption can be ended in the country only unless there is awareness among the public. He said that the use of information technology and e-governance has proved to be the most effective weapon in the fight against corruption. Its main objective is to ensure transparency, effectiveness and accountability at the administrative level. He said that corruption-free system has to be ensured in administration. The main objective of the Vigilance Commission is not punitive but reformative.
