Artists gave a live presentation of the dance drama Durga Durgatinashini (Mahishamardini Stotra Nritya) in the great festival of Shakti Aradhana on Tuesday evening, the sixth day of Shardiya Navratri, at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham. Watching the dance drama, the devotees of Shiva kept chanting 'Har Har Mahadev' along with the goddess.

As per the resolution of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, a dance drama was presented under the direction of Dr. Divya Srivastava on behalf of Gauri Kalamandap in the temple square located at Dham. The dance drama started with Deepanjali and Ganesh Vandana. After this, Ardhanarishwar, Durga Stuti, Kali Stuti, Kartikeya Stuti, the penance of Mahishasura and the boon given by Brahma, the atrocities of Mahishasura, the creation of Maa Durga by Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, the killing of various demons at the hands of various forms of nine Durga, Maa The incidents like war between Durga and Mahishasura and killing of Mahishasura etc. were staged. The artistes and Shakti Swarupa girls involved in the drama were honored by the Deputy Collector of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple by presenting them Rudraksh rosary and scarf.

It is noteworthy that Mahishasur Mardini Stotra has special significance in Shardiya Navratri. By reciting this stotra, one gets the special blessings of Mother Durga and the problems of life are removed. It is believed that by reciting this stotra one gets relief from fear, anger, ego, obstacles and challenges of life. In the same Sharadiya Navratri itself, Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, Shaktipeeth located in Kashi, Mata Vishalakshi and the Siddhapeeth of Goddess Katyayani Devi, the presiding deity of the sixth day of Navratri, and Raj-Rajeshwari Devi, located adjacent to the Dham, presented the make-up material to Lord Vishveshwar in the Devi Darbar. sent. Jyotirlinga and Shaktipeeth are located nearby in Kashi. In view of this auspicious occasion, starting from this Navratri, on every Navratri festival, the temple trust is dedicating all the sixteen adornments and festival clothes of the goddess from Jyotirlinga Peeth.
