Preparations underway to lodge FIR against secretary and employment servant on charges of embezzlement

Hamirpur, 08 August (HS). Cases of looting of government funds in MNREGA are increasing continuously in the district. Now on the orders of the DM, the DPRO has prepared to register an FIR against many people including the secretary, employment servant and woman sarpanch on Thursday regarding the big scam in MNREGA.

Ramsajivan Nishad, former Sarpanch of Garha village of Maudha block area of ​​Hamirpur district had complained against the current Sarpanch Sonam Singh a long time ago. He had alleged that there has been a large scale irregularity in the works of MNREGA scheme. The Sarpanch of the village Sonam Singh had also accused the Rozgar Sevak and the then Panchayat Secretary of embezzling government money in the MNREGA scheme. The DM had ordered an inquiry into the complaints of both of them. A four-member team was formed under the leadership of the District Social Welfare Officer to investigate the entire matter.

The investigation team had thoroughly investigated the complaints of the former Pradhan and the current Sarpanch. The investigation team had also sent the complete report to the DM in which it was reported that the amount of Rs. 10 lakh 82 thousand 90 was misused. In the investigation, the then secretary of Garha village Ajay Shankar Pasi was found guilty of misusing the amount of Rs. 5 lakh 34 thousand 102, Panchayat Rozgar Sevak Lakshmi Devi was found guilty of misusing the amount of Rs. 5 lakh 34 thousand 101, former Pradhan Ramsajivan Nishad was found guilty of Rs. 4 thousand 2 hundred 81 and the current Sarpanch Sonam Singh was found guilty of misusing the amount of Rs. 9 thousand 656. Getting the green signal for action in this case has created panic among the accused.

Recovery will be done from four people including the secretary and woman sarpanch

After investigating the case of misappropriation of government funds in the MNREGA scheme, the DM has ordered action against the Panchayat Secretary Ajay Shankar Pasi, woman Sarpanch Sonam Singh, employment servant Laxmi Devi and former Pradhan Ramsjivan Nishad. The department has started preparations to recover and deposit more than Rs 10 lakh 34 thousand from these four accused. Along with this, the DM has also ordered the BDO of Maudha to register an FIR against the Panchayat Secretary and the employment servant. Besides this, the DM has also sent a letter to the District Panchayat Raj Officer Mirzapur for action against the secretary. DPRO Jitendra Mishra said on Thursday that action is being taken after the investigation.
