Lucknow, 18 November (Hindustan Reporter). Uttar Pradesh Eastern Telecom Circle Telecom Department has started preparations to install seventy Cells on Wheels (CoW) in the fair area for smooth telecom services in Mahakumbh 2025. All cells on wheels will be installed in the fair area before 15th December.
To deal with the poor network problem during the sudden increase in crowd in Prayagraj during Maha Kumbh, the officials of Prayagraj Regional Office of Uttar Pradesh East LSA Department of Telecommunications have started the work of installing necessary towers. Officials associated with the Lucknow headquarters of the Department of Telecommunications, trying for smooth telecom services, have also camped in Prayagraj.
AK Mishra, working in Prayagraj Telecommunication Department, said that at present 6403 Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) are working within Prayagraj. Among the BTS working in the urban area of Prayagraj, 1319 BTS are connected to 5G and 4073 BTS are connected to 4G technology.
He said that all the works regarding Mahakumbh are being completed in the presence of top officials of the Department of Telecommunications. The Department of Telecommunications is going to use its best technology for better network on bathing ghats and main roads.
Telecom sector experts say that Cell on Wheels (CoW) is a portable mobile cellular site. Activation of CoW initiates temporary network and wireless coverage. It is used where cellular coverage is minimal.
