Preeti Sudan appointed as new chairman of UPSC, will replace Manoj Soni

Preeti Sudan UPSC Chairperson: 1983 batch IAS and former Union Health Secretary Preeti Sudan has been appointed as the new chairman after UPSC Chairman Manoj Soni resigned before the completion of his term. Preeti will take over as chairperson on Thursday i.e. August 1. Preeti has been working as a UPSC member since 2022.

Who is Preeti Sudan?

Preeti Sudan has been a member of UPSC since 2022. He joined the civil service in 1983. He is a retired IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre. His tenure as Union Health Secretary ended in July 2020. After this Preeti became a member of UPSC.

Preeti has also worked in the Ministry of Women and Child Development and Defence. Apart from this, her cadre has worked for finance, planning, disaster management, tourism and agriculture in Andhra Pradesh. Apart from this, she has also played the role of consultant for the World Bank.

According to the information, Preeti Sudan contributed to the creation of two major programs in the country 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' and 'Ayushman Bharat', besides the National Medical Commission, Allied Health Professional Commission and the law related to the ban on e-cigarettes.
