Khunti, August 11 (HS). On Sunday, with the help of Torpa police station, villagers of Urlutoli, Nanda Toli of Sundari village of Torpa block were made aware about the ill effects of illegal opium cultivation, witch hunting, ill effects of drug addiction and road accidents.
Addressing the program, Thana Incharge Prabhat Ranjan Pandey said that opium cultivation is a crime. There is a provision of strict punishment for this in the law. He said that you should not ruin the future generation in the greed of some money from opium cultivation. Talking about witch-hunting, Thana Incharge said that this is completely a superstition. He said that one can get severe punishment for calling a woman a witch or torturing her. He appealed to the people not to drive two-wheelers without helmet and follow traffic rules. He appealed to the young generation to give up drinking alcohol at any cost. Drinking alcohol cannot do any good to anyone.
