Kanpur, 03 June (HS). Monsoon has knocked in Kerala and it is raining, but North India is in the grip of severe heat. The Meteorological Department says that moist winds have started coming from the Bay of Bengal, due to which the movement of clouds will start in Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, there will be thunderstorms with strong dusty winds for the next two days and there is also a possibility of light rain locally. Day and night temperatures are expected to be higher than normal, due to which people will not get much relief from the heat at the moment.
Dr. S N Sunil Pandey, Meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural Technology University, said on Monday that conditions are favorable for further advance of southwest monsoon into some more parts of Central Arabian Sea, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, West Central and North-West Bay of Bengal in the next two days. A cyclonic circulation is formed over East Central Bay of Bengal at 3.1 to 5.8 km above sea level, which is tilted towards southwest. A cyclonic circulation is formed over West Central Bay of Bengal off South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu coast. A cyclonic circulation is formed over Central Pakistan. Another cyclonic circulation is formed over South-West Madhya Pradesh. A cyclonic circulation is formed over Gujarat. A cyclonic circulation is formed over South-East Uttar Pradesh.
It was told that the maximum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 44.0 and the minimum temperature at 27.6 degrees Celsius. The morning's relative humidity was 46 and 15 percent respectively. The wind direction was northwest and its average speed was 3.8 km per hour.
Possible weather activity during next 24 hours
During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with isolated heavy spells is likely over Northeast India, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Sikkim and parts of Maharashtra. Light to moderate rain is likely over Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Gangetic West Bengal.
Light rains may occur over South Madhya Pradesh, South Gujarat, parts of Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh and Western Himalayas. Heat wave conditions are likely in isolated areas of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
