Political News: BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut's controversial statement on farmers has created a political uproar. Apart from the United Kisan Morcha, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and other parties are attacking BJP over Kangana's statement. Apart from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, party leader Rahul Gandhi has also criticized Kangana without naming her.

Rahul Gandhi posted on X

Rahul Gandhi said on social media platform that the government committee formed while withdrawing the farmers' movement is still in cold storage, the government has not clarified its stand on MSP till date, no relief has been given to the families of the martyrs. The betrayal of the farmers by the Modi government by insulting the food providers and attacking their dignity cannot be hidden. No matter how much conspiracy Narendra Modi and BJP do, Bharat Gathbandhan will keep giving the legal guarantee of MSP to the farmers.

Attack by Mallikarjun Kharge

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has also cornered BJP and PM Modi on Kangana's statement. He posted on Twitter and wrote, 'Prime Minister Modi himself called the farmers 'agitators' and 'parasites' in Parliament. The Parliament also refused to observe two minutes of silence for the martyred farmers. Modi ji also made a false promise of forming a committee on MSP and doubling the income of farmers. When Modi ji himself can do all this, what else can the country expect from his supporters other than insulting the martyred farmers? This shameful and highly reprehensible anti-farmer ideology is the DNA of the Modi government.'

Farmer leader Tikait gave a statement

Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait criticized Kangana's statement and said, 'Despite the presence of 400 farmer organizations and lakhs of farmers in the 13-month-long farmer movement, there was no violence, more than 700 farmers were martyred, but the farmers did not lose their temper. BJP MP Kangana Ranaut's statement in this regard is an insult to the martyred farmers and crores of farmers of the country.'

BJP has distanced itself from this statement

According to a press release issued by the BJP's central media cell, the BJP has expressed disagreement with Kangana Ranaut's statement and distanced itself from it, adding that the party has also instructed the Mandi MP not to make any such statement in future.

What was Kangana's statement?

In an interview to a media agency, Kangana said, 'In the name of farmers' movement in Punjab, miscreants are spreading violence and rapes and murders are taking place. If the top leadership of the BJP was not strong, the situation in Punjab would have become like Bangladesh during the farmers' movement. All three agricultural bills were withdrawn, otherwise these evil people had a very long-term plan and they could have done anything in the country.'
