Assembly Election Delhi 2025: The dates for Delhi Assembly elections are to be announced today (January 7). The Election Commission will announce the dates in a press conference at 2 pm. It is noteworthy that elections can be held on 70 assembly seats of Delhi in the month of February. It is being said that elections can be held in one phase. This time too there will be a triangular contest between AAP, BJP and Congress.

More than 1 crore voters in Delhi

Earlier on Monday (January 6), the Election Commission announced the final voter list. According to the Election Commission, this time there are a total of 1 crore 55 lakh 24 thousand 858 voters in Delhi. In which the number of male voters is 83,49,645. Whereas the number of women voters is 71,73,952. While the number of third gender is 1,261.

The Election Commission has released the final list of voters of Delhi amid the controversy in which there were allegations of deletion of voters’ names from the voter list. A few days ago, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in a press conference, had accused BJP of filing a petition to remove the names of voters from the voter list.

How many voters increased in Delhi?

The number of voters in Delhi has increased by 7.26 lakh compared to the 2020 Assembly elections and by 3.10 lakh compared to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. At the time of 2020 elections, there were 1.47 crore voters in Delhi, whereas at the time of last year’s Lok Sabha elections, the number of voters in Delhi was more than 1.52 crore.
