On the occasion of Independence Day, four police personnel including two IPS officers of Uttar Pradesh have been awarded the President's medal for their distinguished services. At the same time, the police team that encountered the son and shooter of the slain mafia Atiq will also be honored. In total, 17 police officers and employees have been announced to be awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry.
The first name among the police officers who received the President's medal for distinguished services on the occasion of Independence Day is that of Additional Director General of Police (Crime) SK Bhagat. The second name is that of Additional Commissioner of Police Kalpana Saxena posted in Ghaziabad Police Commissionerate. The third name is Inspector Sugandha Upadhyay posted in Intelligence Headquarters and the fourth name is Sub-Inspector Ramveer Singh posted in Chitrakoot district.
17 police personnel will get Police Medal for Gallantry
The Government of India has announced to award gallantry police medals to 17 police officers and employees of Uttar Pradesh for their courageous and extraordinary display of bravery on various occasions. These include Mafia Atiq's son Asad, who was killed, and the STF team and the policemen involved in the encounter that killed shooter Ghulam.
