Rishikesh, 24 May (HS). Taking cognizance of the viral video of AIIMS Rishikesh, SSP Ajay Singh, who reached Rishikesh for inspection, said that whatever was done according to the situation at that time was right.
It is noteworthy that a video of the incident that took place on Thursday in Rishikesh AIIMS hospital is becoming viral on social media very fast, in which it is clearly visible how a police vehicle was taken to the fourth floor of the hospital. During this, whoever saw this scene in the ward, everyone was shocked. Regarding this matter, Dehradun SSP Ajay Singh himself reached Rishikesh AIIMS today for investigation. He inspected the spot of AIIMS hospital and also talked to the director and security in-charge of AIIMS regarding this matter. In the investigation, it was revealed that the viral video is not of the emergency ward but of the waiting gallery built for the patients to stay before admission.
It is noteworthy that this case is going on since May 19 when a victimized female doctor lodged a complaint with the hospital administration against a male colleague of the nursing staff in the operation theater. After the administrative investigation, a written complaint was given to the police that the female doctor was molested inside the operation theater. After this, the doctors went on strike demanding the arrest of the accused.
After inspection in AIIMS, Dehradun SSP Ajay Singh said that the police had received a complaint in the case of molestation by a hospital employee and there was a lot of anger among the doctors against the accused. Meanwhile, the accused was admitted to the psychiatrist ward and two and a half to three hundred people had gathered outside to protest against this. When the police reached there, they saw that the people were angry and were ready to beat up the accused. When they did not listen even after a lot of persuasion by the police, an emergency exit plan was made by the AIIMS administration and security officer, from where the car was taken up using the ramp and the accused was taken out safely.
The SSP said that the video which is going viral is not an emergency ward or a ward for other patients but a waiting area. AIIMS security itself guided the police vehicle. All this had to be done so that the tension between the doctors or nursing staff does not escalate. The SSP said that whatever was done according to the situation at that time was right.
