On Saturday, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav honoured 28 jawans by giving them promotions in order to put ribbons and stars on their shoulders for displaying valour and courage. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav paid floral tribute at the Shaheed Smarak at the Police Line. He also planted a Bel Patra plant along with public representatives.

While addressing the decoration ceremony of the Police Department in Balaghat on Saturday, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that today is a historic day in the true sense as well as a day to glorify Mother India. Rewards of Rs. 3 crore 5 lakh were declared on them in various states. This program is also a day to remember and honor those soldiers who have sacrificed their lives while performing their duty. During the program, Superintendent of Police Sameer Saurabh explained the outline of the program in his welcome address. Also, Director General of Police Sudhir Saxena told in detail about the Naxalite incident that took place in Lanji on 1 April 24. He said that for the first time in 32 years, increased counter-action took place on 1 April, in which 2 hardcore Naxalites were killed. Deadly weapons like AK-47 rifles were seized.
