Police seized 5 vehicles involved in illegal mining

Jammu, May 22 (HS). In a drive against illegal mining and to tighten the noose against the violators, Jammu Police has launched a strict crackdown against the culprits involved in illegal mining and earning money from public resources.

In this series, a surprise campaign was conducted on Wednesday at various places in the rural areas of Jammu district. Border Police Post Sandwan found a dumper bearing registration number JK02CX-0930 filled with sand and the driver did not have Form A, hence the said vehicle was seized.

At the same time, the border police post Gajansu seized two dumpers whose registration numbers are JK02CU/8206 and JK02CX/6811. They were filled with sand from Tawi and the driver did not have Form A. At the same time, police station Nagrota seized two tractor trolleys. They were filled with sand and were found without Form-A.

These vehicles were seized and the District Mining Officer was informed for necessary legal action. Giving details, SP Rural Jammu said that Jammu Police is committed to protect public property and eliminate the menace of illegal mining in the area.
