In Gopalganj district's Mohammadpur police station area, after stopping the liquor smugglers, the Scorpio of the police who were chasing the smugglers in a pickup after hitting the chowkidar, hit the divider and overturned near Yadav Line Hotel in Dumariyaghat police station area on Sunday, in which two chowkidars and one ASI were injured.
On receiving the information of the incident, the police of Dumriaghat police station reached the spot and sent the injured to the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, a chowkidar died. The deceased chowkidar has been identified as Dharmendra Kumar. SI Mohan Kumar Nirala and another chowkidar travelling in the Scorpio are injured. In this case, sub-inspector Sanjeet Kumar of Mahmadpur police station has given an application in the Dumriaghat police station and informed about the incident and an FIR has been registered in this case. In which it has been told that the police was checking vehicles at Khorampur Chowk under Mahmadpur police station of Gopalganj district. Meanwhile, the police tried to stop a pickup coming at a high speed, but it ran away after crushing the chowkidar, the Scorpio of the police chasing it lost balance and collided with the divider and overturned. It is being told that the said pickup was loaded with liquor, which ran at a very high speed hitting the watchman at Khorampur Chowk. In this regard, Chakia DSP Satendra Kumar Singh has said that an FIR has been registered in this case and necessary assistance is being provided to Gopalganj Police.
